About the Course

Open from April until October

Garlidna Farm hosts a 30-acre cross-country training facility in the beautiful Cornish countryside. The cross-country course was built initially to suit the needs of our daughter. As she has grown in ability, the fences that we have built have grown in height and technical difficulty. We can now offer a huge range of fences, from logs on the ground to 1 metre tables - there really is something for everyone and every equine. We are also very lucky to have well drained old turf and so our course is never water-logged, and you can rarely see a mark where horses have used it. We do not hold competitions here, and the jumps are moved regularly so the ground is kept as good as possible.

On the cross-country course there is an extensive range of obstacles; a large water complex with many different entry and exit points, ditches, coffin jumps, an owlhole, a trakener, a sunken road and a mound to name a few. There is something for every horse and rider to enjoy. All of the jumps are close to each other, spectator friendly and the ground is never over-used.

The course is let out for 1 hour at a time, at a cost of £20 per horse. We do not allow groups of more than 5 people at a time, and we ask that if you book the course for yourself riding on your own, please bring a person with you to ensure you are not alone on the course. When you have made your booking, you can be assured the cross-country course is yours for the entire timeslot. Click here for our booking page.

Please make sure you wear a non-peaked riding hat and a body protector that both conform to current guidelines. Please ask for clarification if needed on this point.

PLEASE NOTE: We are NOT open all year round. We close at the end of October and reopen again in April to allow the ground time to recover during the wetter months.
